1 \subsubsection{Dimuon Reconstruction efficiency}
2 A CMSSW skim job was prepared to select events
3 with at least two reconstructed muons with $p_T > 5$ GeV/c or at least one reconstructed muon with $p_T > 20$ GeV/c.
4 This event selection was applied to the $Z\rightarrow \mu\mu$ and the
5 EWK-Soup datasets. The skim jobs ran at two Tier-1 centers
6 (FNAL and Spain) and the selected events were transfered to the Tier-2
7 center at Purdue. The selection efficiency is about 23\%.

9 Using these skimmed datasets a study of calculating muon
10 reconstruction efficiency from data was
11 performed. The idea is to compare and cross-check muons reconstructed
12 in the tracker system, the standalone muon system, and the full
13 tracker+muon system, thus allowing to obtain reconstruction
14 efficiencies without relying on Monte Carlo information.

16 We calculate the dimuon invariant mass spectrum using opposite-sign
17 muon pairs from
18 \begin{itemize}
19 \item Monte Carlo simulation,
20 \item global muon reconstruction,
21 \item combinations of global and standalone muons,
22 \item combinations of one global muon and one tracker track.
23 \end{itemize}
24 To avoid double counting a minimal separation of $\delta R = 0.3$ between the two muons is required.

26 Figure~\ref{fig:dimu_pt} shows the muon $p_T$ distribution for
27 selected events
28 with only a single muon. Figure~\ref{fig:dimu_mass} shows the
29 opposite-sign dimuon mass spectrum.
