3.3.1 Defining the Interface

The interface to the software unit is defined using
<export> tags. A software unit can be a collection of
libraries and any number of valid ActiveDoc tags that are
relevant for the build system. The declarations are stated in a
BuildFile for the software unit and will be included whenever
another software unit asks for the interface. For example, suppose a
subsystem exists called myCARF. In the directory of the
subsystem (src/myCARF) there will be a BuildFile
with entries like these:

<export autoexport=false>
<lib name=MetaData></lib>
<lib name=SysCollection></lib>
<lib name=BaseMD></lib>
<lib name=SetUp></lib>
<lib name=Application></lib>
<group name=Persistency></Group>
<use name=Utilities></Use>
</export>

To use this subsystem (and the libraries), it is sufficient to add the
statement <use name=myCARF> to the
BuildFile. Note that another subsystem Utilities is
referred to using a <use> tag. Subsystems from external
projects can be accessed in the same way using the use option
in an <external...> statement. For example, to include
the subsystem SUBSYSA from the external tool
ProjectB, one would use the statement

<external ref=ProjectB use=SUBSYSA>

in the BuildFile.
