\section{Analysis strategy}

3 |
The goal of this analysis is to measure the $B_s$ lifetime, mass and width with the smallest possible amount of data for ICHEP 2010.
|
4 |
We look at the decay length $c\tau$ and at the invariant mass of the reconstructed B candidates as variables for the discrimination
|
5 |
between signal and background. The dominant background processes from prompt $J/ \psi$, the inclusive $b$ production and the
|
6 |
residual QCD background are identified and separated from the signal through an optimized set of selection criteria to maximize the
|
7 |
signal significance. After the selection of $B_s$ candidates we extract the signal yield and the lifetime with an unbinned two-dimensional
|
8 |
ML fit to the invariant mass and $c\tau$ of the candidates.
